Retirement Spotlight: Angie Lowe

Mrs Angie Lowe, Bennington South Middle School 6th Grade Teacher, retires after 30 years – 21 years serving Bennington Public School District. Bennington will forever have my heart!

Family/Work History:

I grew up in Lyons, NE and since, I have spent most of my adult life in Arlington enjoying the peace and quiet. My husband and I married almost 38 years ago. We have two grown children and one grandchild, whom I adore! I have many teachers in my family, but the one who influenced me most to become a teacher was my dad. I earned my bachelor's degree at Midland College and later earned my master"s degree from Wayne State College. I spent the first nine years teaching at Logan View Public Schools and the last twenty one years teaching here in Bennington. In my time here, I have seen one K-12 school building turn into eight buildings, so it's been a crazy and exciting ride.

Favorite Memory at BPS:

I have so many great memories! We celebrated the Huskers in my room and for many years we would decorate other teachers' classrooms with Husker posters/pictures after they left for the day. We did it because Mr. McCord, Mr. Heese, and Mr. Nichols were all Hawkeye fans. The kids really got a kick out of doing that. Another funny memory is Tyler Remmereid dressed up like me on twin day, blonde wig and all!

What's Next?

I will either get a part-time job or sub in my future. I hope to travel more!
