With class reunion season coming up sooner than you think, it’s a good idea to start buckling down and preparing for your event, if you intend to hold one this summer.
Here are just a few tips to help you through the process of planning a class reunion!
-
Set a date and location: Choose a date and location that works for the majority of alumni. Consider the time of year, accessibility, and cost when making your decisions.
- Reach out to alumni: Start by reaching out to classmates through social media, email, or old-fashioned snail mail. Encourage them to spread the word to other alumni.
- Plan activities: Plan a mix of activities that will appeal to different age groups and interests. Consider activities like a tour of the old school, a picnic, or a dance.
- Keep it affordable: Make sure that the reunion is affordable for everyone. Offer different payment options and consider holding a fundraiser to offset costs.
- Capture memories: Make sure to capture memories from the reunion. Hire a photographer or assign someone to take photos and videos. Encourage alumni to bring old photos to share.
The Bennington Public Schools Foundation is happy to assist you in any way we can with your class reunions. We’re happy to help you hold tours, or to allow you to use the annual gala as a reunion event.
